DON'T BE ONE OR MULTIPLE BE  MULTIPLICITY

2004

Don’t be one or multiple, be multiplicity

Original title in Spanish: “No seáis uno ni múltiple, ser multiplicidades”

Synopsis:

Starting with a phrase by Gillez Deleuze, I make an observation about the nature of the flora immersed in the city of Bogota, the environment that struggles to survive and lives as a rhizome, in contact with the everyday pollution. Not only within itself but as a whole the flora emerges in spaces sometimes forgotten by mankind from sidewalks, to back yards, even the city botanical garden.

Sounds, images that are intertwined in our daily living, and seldom the citizens are conscious of the multiple beings that coexist in this chaotic habitat.

The video shows how these nature beings are a latent part of the city rhythm, in harmony with the inhabitants and the sound of traffic, it’s a contemplation of the vital forms and its multiple connections, that’s “be multiplicity”, everything turns urban but its still nature.
